Mindmatrix SMS service is double-opt in. This means that after you add a contact to your account, you need to be sure that they are subscribed to receive SMS messages.

By default, unless otherwise indicated--any contact added to Mindmatrix is considered unsusbcribed from SMS.

 

That means that if you import a list or create a contact and do not check the Subscribe to SMS option, your contact will not receive SMS messages.

 

Opt a contact into SMS by doing one of the following:

 

1. Opt them in by editing their contact record:

Verify or subscribe by visiting their reports page:

2. Create a spreadsheet and add a column for "Unsubscribe SMS" or whatever name is convenient. Enter the value of 0 next to each number that you wish to subscribe.

Make sure to check overwrite imports when you import the list. This will update any unsuscribed SMS records to subscribed.

 

Verify that a contact is opted in by checking their contact record (Notice the unchecked box):

You can also make a smart list of all of your Subscribed SMS contacts This will help you keep track. Remember, go to Contact Record Data > Unsubscribed > SMS and select > NO
