How to revert the Customized Static Contact Fields to Default?

This feature allows a User to reset/revert the customized static contact fields configured for a Company and make it as default one.

Who will be using this?

This feature will be used by Site Admin earlier and once be working as intended will be added for Super Admin also.


This will provide a company the provision to revert the customized static fields and its tabs to the default one (with 3 static tabs and fields in them).


When for a Company the “Edit Static fields” action is performed then a button called “Revert to Default” will be provided in Setup > Custom Fields > Contact page only for Site Admin (as of now).

Clicking on the button will provide a confirmation dialog with a message
This action will re-arrange the static fields into default tabs and custom fields in custom tabs; this action is irreversible, do you want to continue?

Clicking on “Yes” will move all the used static fields as well unused static fields into default 3 tabs of Info, Address and Preferences. The custom fields will be re-arranged in the tabs. The tabs will serialize after Preferences tab. If the tab created has name as the default tab then it will add a number to the tab after checking uniqueness among other tabs.
e.g. The tab created had name as “Info” then it will be renamed as “Info1”. Similarly, if the tabs name was “Info” and “Info1” then while renaming it will rename the first one into “Info2” and keep the second one as “Info1”.

Note: Once the default mode is set, then there won’t be any chance to “Edit Static Fields” again.
